Let regulars put it on the tab.
Customer Credit Accounts bring the corner-shop trust system into ShelfGuard. Owners set a limit per customer, the till tabs every basket, and customers settle from their phone — with a full itemised history on both sides.
Where ShelfGuard is going next.
We ship a major capability every quarter. Credit Accounts is the next one — built with three pilot stores in Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield.
The till tab, finally itemised.
Every independent supermarket has a handful of trusted regulars who'd like to "settle up Friday." Today that lives in a notebook by the till. ShelfGuard turns it into a real ledger — line-item accurate, signed by the customer, and paid from a phone.
Set a limit, sleep at night
Approve a customer once. Pick a credit limit (£50, £200, £500…), an optional weekly cap and a settlement day. The till blocks anything over.
Scan, tap "On account"
Same scan flow. At checkout, search the customer or scan their card. The basket lands on their tab — receipt printed and emailed.
See every line, pay in a tap
A web link — no app to install. Live balance, every basket itemised, statements by month, and Apple Pay / card / bank transfer to clear it.
Reconciles itself
Credit sales post as receivables, not cash. Payments clear automatically. Export to Xero or QuickBooks at month-end with one click.
Who owes what, and for what.
One screen. Every customer with a balance. Drill into any name to see every basket, every line, every payment.

"What did I buy on Tuesday?" — now they can answer.
Customers get a magic-link page on their phone. Live balance, itemised baskets going back forever, downloadable monthly statements, and a big "Pay now" button that clears it.

Built for trust, not for risk.
Credit is the most sensitive thing in any shop. The defaults are conservative; the owner is always in charge.
Hard limits, never soft
If the basket pushes them over, the till refuses to add it to the tab. Cashier sees a polite prompt — "card, cash or split?"
Owner-only approval
Only the owner (or an explicitly delegated manager) can open an account or change a limit. Logged with timestamp and reason.
One-tap freeze
Suspect a problem? Freeze the account from the dashboard. Existing balance stays; no new credit until you unfreeze.
Signed at the till
Every credit basket is signed on a screen by the customer. Stored as proof — protects both sides if anything is queried.
Encrypted ledger
Credit data is encrypted at rest, separated per store, and never sold or shared. Customers can request a full export anytime.
FCA-aware
Designed for short-term trade credit between a shop and a known customer — not regulated consumer credit. We'll flag if your usage drifts.
Included from day one
Three pilot stores. One spot left.
We're partnering with three independent supermarkets to ship Credit Accounts in Q3. Two are signed; one slot is open. Free for 6 months, weekly calls with the team building it.
